Host a Bulldog Player for the 2020 Season!

29 Nov 2019 by Scott Giles

Calling all Capalaba FC members and supporters!

We are seeking your assistance in securing some accommodation for our International visa player.

Annie Walker has signed with our NPL Open Women’s team for the 2020 Season, and will be joining us from Houston Texas, USA in early January.

To assist Annie with this big move we are looking to secure a host family who could help her settle into life in Australia.

A host family is a family that opens their home to out-of-country players giving them a stable living environment for their move to the Capalaba while they pursue the next step in their football career.

Host families come in all forms; single parent households, singles, empty-nesters, couples with no children, or families with small children or teenagers.

You are expected to provide a private bedroom, access to washing amenities and most importantly, a welcoming and caring environment.

Host families are expected to treat the players as “one of the family” and not just a “renter.”

Players will provide their own personal care items, mobile phones and devices. They must clean up after themselves, keep their room tidy, do their own laundry, and follow all team and house rules. They should show respect for every family member at all times.

Players are also responsible for their own transportation to and from all football activities.

The unique bond families form with their players often last a lifetime: It is not uncommon for players to keep in close contact with their former homestay families years after playing.

If you are interested in hosting Annie or would like further information please contact Shaun McAney on 0403 377 206 or by email at nplwtd@capalababulldogs.com

We value the importance of our host families and appreciate your willingness to open up your home our athletes. Your generosity will not be taken for granted!
